While the owner is away
The dogs will play in our home, located in Arnold Missouri, just 18 miles south of downtown Saint Louis. We are a very small specialized alternative to traditional boarding/kenneling. We care for your pets in a cage free, kennel free home where they live with us as part of our family. You and your furry one will "know" us, and it really does become like dropping them off with family. It is because we are small, only taking a few dogs at any given time, that allows us to know each of our guests individually. You will always drop them off to the same person, someone your dog knows and is excited to see. Each time the dogs come back for subsequent visits they literally pull you to the door because they are excited to be back. This gives you the peace of mind to travel "guilt free" knowing that your dog is in a happy place, getting lots of attention and having loads of fun. We are constantly taking pictures of all the dogs playing, sleeping, getting loving, etc., and we post these pictures on our Dogs In My Home Facebook page! There are literally thousands of pictures you can browse of our past guests. Many of the parent's of our guests have provided testimonials, some of which are on this website (under "Testimonials" tab). Additional testimonials can be found on Angie's List as well as Facebook, just search for Dogs In My Home on either site. When your dog stays with us, they are more than just guests, they are family.
We are confident that you will be amazed at finding a place like this to care for your family's furry loved ones. To our knowledge there is no place else that offers this specialized care and certainly not at our prices. You will always see myself or my husband when you drop off your dog, not some high school kids we hired on the cheap to do the work while we sit back and collect the funds. We operate this service because we love dogs and want to be with them. We want all of the spoiled little furballs (big and small) to have a family away from home, a place they feel safe and happy, a place to have fun and get a lot of loving while making lots of new friends
Where dogs can be dogs
We know how it feels to leave your pet while you are away. But rest assured, we are not a kennel, and we don't use cages. Your special pet will have freedom to play, both inside and outside. We have a very large back yard for the dogs to run and play to their hearts content. It has a 6 foot wooden fence and is secured with locked gates to ensure your pet is in a safe environment
Make new friends - Our Golden Greeters
Come meet Chad, Destiny, and ROC, our special "Golden" babies. They are all well trained, kind hearted Golden Retrievers. Chad is a retired registered Therapy Pet, licensed to visit hospitals and nursing homes. All of them will become fast friends with your furry kids! To ensure everyone gets individualized special attention, we usually do not take more than 10 dogs at any given time. Special consideration is given to weekends, as well as holidays when we have additional family members on hand.
Personalized perks at no additional cost
Our mission is to maintain affordable cost for personalized care. In our home, your furry one will live with us as part of our family. They will be with the group of dogs having fun, getting lots of attention, and having a great time with their new friends. However, if they require special attention, like special feedings, medications, or other special instructions, these come at no additional cost to you. While other places charge you for treats, a second feeding, playtime, and other such things that rack up a lot of extra expenses, these are all included here. . . and ANY time is play time!
